3) and 4)Hurricane Katrina was one of the worst hurricanes in the history of the United States. It is the deadliest hurricane to hit the United States since the Palm Beach-Lake Okeechobee hurricane of September 1928. Its damages are estimated to $75 billion in the New Orleans area and along the Mississippi coast and it is the hurricane that cost the most almost on the U. S. hurricane records. Hurricane Katrina is responsible for almost 1,200 deaths, including about 1,000 in Louisiana and 200 in Mississippi. Seven other deaths occurred in southern Florida. Katrina caused even more damage in southeastern Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
